Sharing the ride...

Lets ride till we're all old & fucked... In my case thats already happened... Thanks 4130..

Rick Moliterno 46yrs old & still ripping... Stole this interview from OGWR.

OGWR: How many years have you been riding and what is your history in the sport?
Rick: I started riding "BMX" in 1971. History? Well here is a brief summary: I started out a street thrasher, wheelie rider type kid. I found BMX racing in the late 70's. I turned pro in '82. I turned AA Pro in early '83. I was National #11 ABA Pro in '84. Picked up by Hutch for freestyle in '85. Participated in the movie RAD. Changed teams to Haro in late '86 when Hutch had troubles. Competed in the AFA from 1986-1988. Started Rampage skatepark in 1989. I ran the “King of the Skateparks” series through Rampage. Started Standard Byke Company in 1991. I then moved the operation in house in 2008. Started Goodtimes Superstore in 1995. I still ride and build our bikes every day.
OGWR: Do you have any sponsors or other companies you support?
Rick: I got too old and had to start a company to get hooked up! I support anything positive for BMX and it's growth. Sun Rims takes care of me as needed.  I support the JUKE lifestyle.
OGWR: Give us a basic bike check?
Rick: I have two bike setups: One is a simple rear brake, freewheel type bike and the other is front and rear brakes with a freecoaster rear hub.
Here's Rick "Back in the Day"OGWR: What style of riding do you do?
Rick: I do it all except racing for now. I would love to get back to that. This winter I have been riding my street spine inside Standard. That keeps me sane!
OGWR: Where is your favorite place to ride?
Rick: Right now it is here inside the Standard Byke Company! I like our public concrete park a lot. Almost any trails. Street anywhere.

OGWR: What keeps you riding at your age and how do you stay motivated?
Rick: It is what I do. Motivation comes in many forms.
OGWR: Anything else you would like to tell us?
Rick: I am still hungry to ride nearly every day. I still love this stuff. I am really pushed by being involved in building our products with my own hands. It is very rewarding....

blogging.is.addictive.

I am sure all the people out there that have a blog will know what I am talking about. Once to start a blog, and start blogging regularly while really enjoying it... you're addicted! And it it becomes a part of your everyday life. What ever you might be doing during the day or at night, there will always be the question at the back of your mind saying "Oooh, how can I blog about this?" - and therefore you take a picture and start brainstorming about your next blog post.
Blogging is also incredibly time consuming, so if you are really busy and don't have any spare time in your day to spend blogging, then obviously your blog gets neglected for a while.
Not only is blogging addictive, reading other blogs is also addictive. I could spend hours reading other blogs, looking for inspiration, and learning about different people and the different lives they lead. There are some incredibly creative people out there with such inspiring blogs, a beautiful mess is one of my favourite daily reads - Elsie is so clever, creative and all about vintage.

17th April 2011 – Taupo Skate Park

Maybe Colony were onto something?

We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

Today I'd like to introduce to you another friend and avid blogger, Che Kershaw from IndieBerries. Che is the person who initially inspired me to start a blog, and start blogging. IndieBerries is always entertaining, creative and lots of fun to read - it is one of my daily reads. Che is living in South Korea and teaching English, and she seems to be having a ball.
I did a little Q&A with Che over email and here is a little bit more about her....
1. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I had a whole bunch of creativity in me and no-where to put it... It was a time in my life when I was ready for a fresh new start – so I started a blog :) It was also initially intended to promote my Etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/shop/justche?ga_search_query=justche&ga_search_type=seller_usernames), but it’s moved past that and I’ve become more focused on ‘blogging for blogging’

2. What inspires you to blog regularly?
Knowing that people are looking forward to my cartoons and posts is the main reason that keeps me blogging regularly. It’s tough though – sometimes I don’t feel like drawing a cartoon or writing a post – but knowing that people like what I do is a huge motivator. Comments and emails are so lovely to receive to remind you it’s worth it :)
(When I have time – I try and make extra posts/cartoons and store them to post later – which really helps)

3. Would you get a tattoo, what and where?
I already have a small tattoo – which I got done in Thailand – it’s very special to me :)
For my next one I’m thinking about three small symbols down the side of my wrist… small outline of Africa, a heart and a peace sign or a fancy letter C… still deciding… But best we keep that on the low-down from Mommy and Daddy-Berries ;)

4. What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
1. Flown across the world literally for the weekend to attend the blog awards in Cape Town.
2. Been carted down a ski-slope strapped into a bright-orange body bag
3. Bitten my friends foot in a bar… and my tooth subsequently falling out… (it’s a long story.)

5. If you had 48hours left to live, what would you do?
Fly home to see my family.

6. If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with and why?
Jamie Oliver if he’s cooking.
And Edward Monkton if Jamie is out of town.

My lovely day of lovelyness!

Yesterday I had 3 and a half hours of pure spoiling! My partner had bought me a Luxury Pamper Half Day for Valentine and so I went yesterday to a place called Ritual Day Spa. I had a facial, a massage and a manicure. A girl couldn't ask for more! Inspired by my previous post on WAH, I went for two different colours. You like?

wow.fun.weekend.

Oh my word did I just have the coolest fun filled weekend.... It started off with a dinner with the girls (Sally, Janey, Tess, Suzie and myself) at Marco's in Windermere Road, some delicious pizza and wine and some good conversation....
Followed by an early start to our day, 9:30am meeting to start the day of the party bus, the prawn shack and then the party bus home. We sipped on our first cold Hunter Dry at 10am and thats where it all began...
When we arrived at The Prawn Shack we were given welcome drinks made with sugar cane juice and lemon and some sort of alcohol.... and that was followed by a 6 course meal. I must admit I didn't eat all six courses, but I can inform you on the first couple. The beautiful view.
The courses started with tomatoes and mozzarella with pestos and chilly pastes on bruschetta. The second course was mini - prawn curry bunny chow's - a bunny chow is a South African dish consisting of a hollowed out half loaf of bread that is filled with curry. The third course was a prawn soup or prawn pasta. The fourth course was delicious fish, also served with bruschetta. And that's about as far as I got with the food.... we carried on partying and having lots of fun....
The birthday girl and boy!
